2020 : Sunday Sweater
Inspired by a lovely customer who always wears her Sunday Sweater with pearls and always looks fabulous. I wanted mine for those blustery days. Perfect Sunday boating sweater. So warm. Love it.
Craft : Knit
Pattern : Sunday Sweater by Petite Knits
Yarn : Andes by Fiddlesticks 40% Wool 40% Acrylic 20% Alpaca (yarn alternative Fiddlesticks Grange)
Quantity / Colour : 7 x Navy (742m)
Needle : 5mm, 5.5mm & 6mm
Size : Adult L
Project cost : yarn $76.65 + pattern $9 (approx)
Notes : A few false starts and then a rework for the length. Should have swatched!
I settled on the large size but would probably knit a smaller size next time (the sleeves and length are in keeping with the small size). However I did wanted it oversized.
Needles : 5.5mm cast on and neck rib, 6mm body and sleeves, 5mm sleeve cuff & body band
I folded and knitted the cast on neck stitches together at the start of the yoke so I had to adjust the suggested length measurements as I went. Wish I had kept note of the number of rows between increases for the yoke. Next time. Same with the sleeve increases. My row counting and measuring are a little relaxed!
Reduced sleeve length and increases. Only 6 repeats to approx 40cm (64 sts).
Body length approx 25cm then 9cm of 1x1 rib on 5mm needles.
